Gary trained with full scholarships at The Purcell School of Music, Guildhall School of Music & Drama and the Royal Academy of Music where he qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Musical Theatre and gained a Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music Vocal Coaching Diploma. Also a fully qualified and certified Systematic Kinesiologist and Certified Hypnotherapist Gary has been fully trained in practices such as muscle testing analysis, nutritional approach to health, acupressure, lymphatic massage, gentle structural manipulations, energetic and vibrational medicine, advanced personal communication and specialist counselling skills which he brings into his work as a Transformational Performance and Voice Coach.
Currently, Gary is vocal coach at The Musical Theatre Academy working with students on a one to one basis and enjoys a busy private practice. Over the last 8 years he has enjoyed vocal coaching posts at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts, The American Musical Theatre Academy, Urdang Academy of Performing Arts. He also runs a busy Hypnotherapy and Natural Medicine clinic at home in East London where he specialises in working with performers.
Gary has had a varied and fascinating 12 year career as a performer, musician and vocal coach in classical, musical theatre and pop music. He works with actors and dancers crossing over into musical theatre, drama school students, pop singers, West End performers, classical and opera singers, public speakers and complete beginners.
Gary was honoured to be invited as vocal coach for The Sam Wanamaker Festival at Shakespeare's The Globe Theatre in 2015/2016. This thrilling event invited 46 drama school students from the UK, America and China to participate in an intensive weekend of acting, movement and voice workshops culminating in a full length professional performance at The Globe itself.
As a singer/actor Gary appeared as the singing presenter and song writer in E4's hit reality dating series 'Playing It Straight' hosted by Alan Carr and Jameela Jamil, sang for Stephen Sondheim at his '80th Birthday Prom' (Royal Albert Hall) and his Doctorate ceremony (Royal Academy of Music), appeared as a guest soloist with Kerry Ellis and Brian May at their 'Anthems' concerts (Royal Albert Hall), has played leading roles in Operas and musicals including 'My Mother Told Me Not To Stare' (UK Tour), 'Mother Goose' (Oxford Playhouse), 'Follies' (Sir Jack Lyons Theatre), 'Company' (York Gate Studio) and was lucky enough to be a part of 'The Calendar Girls Celebration' (Royal Albert Hall) and the 'Alan J Lerner Memorial Concert' (Actors Church, Covent Garden).
Gary helps people to understand their voice, realise what emotions are holding them back, giving them the confidence and knowledge to really shine when and where it matters.
